Making a simple shopping bag using the materials in the sewing room – and we will use the pattern and instructions from Peppermint Magazine.  Techniques used are straight seam sewing, and ‘bagged’ lining.

Workshop 2 –   10 April – Simple Summer Top  – WORKSHOP FULL (29.03.17)

summer top

This is making a simple batwing sleeve top.  Its based on a top I had in the 80s which I traced and became my first homemade pattern!  super easy, (and they are selling a version in penneys currently – how on trend is that).  Techniques used are straight seam sewing, facings and button and loop closure – which you can put to the side, the middle or back.

Workshop 3 – 17 and 24 April – Halter top or summer top  —- WORKSHOP FULL

I was undecided on which would be better – so we can do either (or both)

The techniques used for the halter top, are gathering, straight stitch sewing, and bias binding finishes.  (you will need to provide your own 5metres of bias binding).  The halter top is size 12 approx.

The summer top pattern is from this website, and you can register for free, and download (you will need to turn on the translator).  I have the size 12 printed out and made up.  Techniques used, tucks, facings, binding and button and loop close.
